About a Girl

It was not till I was about 18 that I started becoming increasingly aware of the tension of seeing from & being in this awkward spot 'in-between'. It's not a plague that deserves being painted wholly black. In fact, sometimes it's nothing short of wonderful.. this being able to see/do things a little different from everyone else. But yes, sometimes it feels a little lonely or tense.

What I mean by in-between (or you could also see it as a duality?), is far too complex to be explained in this singular post. Ey, that's what the entire blog is for! So I'll start with a few essentials.
  • I'm 23 - that little space before full maturity.
  • Mixed background
  • More dude friends than girlfriends
  • As much a lady as I am a tomboy
  • I have more international friends than the average person
  • I pray as much as I party
So I'm not extraordinarily different nor a total wowza exotic being, but I'm not quite like everyone else round here either.

I'm Asian. Well-spoken Southeast Asian of EuroAsian origins, with a basic education under the British system and a higher education under the EuroAmericanized-ish global university, and a member of a traditionally-large Asian family following Asian traditions & Roman Catholic beliefs. Exposed to a media that's primarily American and occasionally British. N being in Asia, some of that too.
